Classrooms destroyed by arsonists

TWO demountable classrooms have been destroyed in an arson attack on a secondary school in Melbourne's northwest. Firefighters called to the blaze at Keilor Downs Secondary College about 2.15am (AEDT) managed to bring it under control quickly to prevent the fire spreading, a Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) spokesman said. The classrooms were located at the end of a row of 10 portables. Damage was estimated at $150,000, with valuable equipment and class notes also lost, the MFB has said. Police and education department officials are investigating. |
